Milestones
2011
Established in the Community
SHADE was founded with a simple vision to create a safe and structured environment for young people in East London. What began as small group sessions quickly grew through word of mouth and trusted relationships within the community.
2020
Strengthening Community Support
During a challenging period for many families, we stepped up community engagement, providing consistent youth sessions, guidance and support to young people facing isolation and uncertainty.
2014
Expansion of Sports Provision
As demand increased, we expanded our football programme and introduced structured coaching pathways. This period marked the start of consistent weekly engagement and stronger links with local families.
2024
Launch of Young Entrepreneurs Academy
We launched our enterprise programme to help older young people explore leadership, business ideas and financial literacy. This marked a new chapter in supporting ambition and long term progression.
2017
Introduction of Mentoring and Workshops
Recognising the wider needs of young people, we introduced mentoring, life skills workshops and employability support. Our work began to focus not only on sport but on character development and personal growth.
2026
Growth in Youth Engagement and Facilities
Our weekly programmes expanded to include football, boxing, youth club and media initiatives, reaching more young people across the borough and strengthening our impact locally.
